Stop Following societies definition of Success
Standing On Stage Holding My Diploma that read “Doctor Mark T Wade” was one of the happiest moments of my life. Little did I know less than 12 months later I would be broke, unhappy, & ready to give up.
Isn’t it funny how society tells us we should follow a certain path & that is what will make us successful, happy, & fulfilled? Yet for a majority of us it’s just the opposite.
Many of us have something inside of us that is calling to us, itching for us to set free, and go out to contribute to the world. A calling if you will. However, we far to often tell that little voice to “shut up” and go away because we have to follow a different path. A path society says we should follow.
We have to become a doctor, a lawyer, an accountant, work at a bank, or at a big company, or just go get a good job working 9-5. They tell us that is what we need to do to be happy & successful, yet most of us feel unfulfilled living paycheck to paycheck.
That’s how I felt just under a year after getting my doctorate. I thought I would graduate and immediately have everything I had ever dreamt of. Fame, fortune, prestige, a busy practice full of happy patients. I mean I had been working non-stop for almost 7 years to become a doctor.
But that isn’t how it played out. I opened my doors expecting patients to flood in, and instead heard crickets. Every month looking at the bills with despair wondering how I was going to make it to next month. That is how most of us live.
We end up 10 years down the road going “How did I get here”. Our lives on autopilot just getting by.
Then it hits us. That little voice comes back out and says, “Why didn’t you listen to me? Why didn’t you follow your dream?” And you feel that turning in the pit of your stomach because deep inside you know it’s true.
Now some of us say, “Screw it, I’m not going to live the rest of my life like this”. And they set out on a “CRAZY” journey called entrepreneurship. Almost like a cowboy back in the wild Wild West. Or like Columbus exploring the “new world”.
It’s no less risky, it’s no less difficult, and if anything it’s more. The difference is it’s on our terms, following our inner voices, and chasing after our dreams.
And That is worth EVERYTHING!
I was one of the fortunate ones in my industry. I ended up building a successful clinic, which then opened the doors for me to build an online business.
That online business became an industry titan, which allowed me to live a life of financial & location freedom.
But it wouldn’t have happened without re-discovering my reason for being, following my dream (even though EVERYONE told me I was crazy).
And most importantly it wouldn’t have happened without a platform/method of delivering my message to the world.
I did that using a technique called the One-Day Summit Formula, which let me quickly build an engaged audience, grow a platform & become an influencer in my industry.

It will be tough, it won’t be without some bumps and bruises, but the satisfaction that comes from going against the status quo, & taking control of your life is the most fulfilling thing you can do.
